why do men like to dance?

There's the athletic part. For instance, the control required for foxtrot is not easy to appreciate unless you try it.
There's the artistic aspect. Even simple floorcraft, maneuvering to avoid crashes, and choosing patterns that make your partner look good, have an appeal.
But mostly my ambition, in fewer years than I care to contemplate, on becoming a dirty old man. It's the ladies.

When couple's dancing :
1. The man is in control - men lead women follow - which is about the only time / place a women allows this.
2. You get to dance with lots of women - some good some bad - some fabulous and absolutely outside of their league in normal circles
3. You get to hold, move, caress, guide, sway and rock with loads of ladies and your life partner doesn't regard it as cheating
4. You can also chat with dance partners and not offend your life partner.
5. Men like to move to music too
6. You get to strut your stuf and compete with all the other dudes.
7. It's great excercise and as a prev answerer said better than the gym.
8. It's a night out - beer, women, song and dance - kuh!
9. It's a mental work out too - all that thinking about the move your in he move that follows. the lead you need to make - feedback from if the lady is following and if it's right for the music.
10 it's a great social skill you can deploy at loads of events and don't need to prop the bar up or hide in the kitchen.
