Do you think books, or their movie versions are better?? Here's my view:

I think that books are way better. They can put everything in the book, but with movies they always cut out the things that us readers thought made the story really good. The big issue for movies on books is time! I get it that some people don't like really long movies, but like with tyhe Harry Potter movies, they should have followed the lord of the rings example. The Lord of the RIngs movies have the regular versions, and then the extended version with like an hour more film. I think that this should be offered for all movies, then the people who want long movies can get the extended version at a more expensive price, and the regular will be sold too.

Well that's my two cents. Now what do you think? And I will be choosing a best answer, and I might even put the best answer on my blog that gets over 30,000 hits daily! So write your best!

I totaly argee! Movies can be fun and all cause you see everything unfolding with out fliping a page or stoping to invent what the character looks like. But when you try to put a book onto the big screen most times you don't get the best entertanment as form the book. I'm a book-ahalick I guess... anytime I have is spent reading or writing. With the Lord of the Rings, I have'nt seen the extended vertion yet. But I really didn't like that they cut out all about Tom Bombadil and the farest and king monds... but they (over all) did a great job with turning such a great book into a very good movie... but for the most part I like to leave those story's in the pages and in my imagination.
(Good Question)

More often than not, I find the books are usually much better, but not always. There have been times when the movie has been as good or even better. There are some movies that stay very true to the book. It seems though, that many of the thriller/horror books get changed quite a bit when made into a movie.

I think that the book is always better if it comes before the movie because it usually is written much better than how the movie is set up. However, if a book is based off of a movie, they fail to set up a good plot and simply have the dialogue from the movie. To me it depends on what comes first. I can't stand it when the movie is based off of a book and nothing is the same at all. And I agree with you on the whole shorten movie concept.

I like watching the movies better than reading the books. It is less work and you get to sleep while watching it.
