No... he caved to the Political Correct media for fear he would offend someone. He would have gained respect if he would have stuck by his statement. Who doesn't think that guy needs to be shot on sight?
I DO.... and I stand by that.

We don't agree on much, my friend, but if you vote for McCain, we know he'll get at least 2 (mine, also). I've liked McCain for years and if he is on the ticket and my fellow Democrats put up either Obama or Hillary, there is not a doubt in the world who I would vote for - McCain.
He's a man who can reach across the aisle and thinks about the country over party power. Right now he's kissing the butts of the Right Wing and the Religious Right because he needs to to get the nod.
I think he'd be a fine president.

While I do believe Senator John McCain is an American Patriot and I do appreciate his many years of military service.
And I do acknowledge the sacrifices he made in the conflict in Vietnam. The two things that changed my mind was the Media Endorsement while running against Bush and Kerry.
And his beliefs on what the definition of what constitutes American Military Personal treatment of the detainees in Obu Gareb Prison. It may be degrading, But panties on ones head is not a definition of torture "Senator!".

He can't make his mind up as to whether he wants to be a leader or a politician. His statement about shooting OBL was that of a leader. His retraction afterward was that of a politician.
Reagan wouldn't have taken that statement back.

He has to do more than that to win points with me. He is reputed to have a very volcanic temper.. I would like to see someone of a more stable temperament.
