Boot on safe mode(F8 on boot) Go to control panel administrative tools>event viewer and check what the problem is under "errors" If you can't boot in safe mode copy the message from the blue screen and from another computer visit http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&q=blue+screen+codes
and type the error message for explanation.

A driver issue could also cause this. You can use the verifier tool to identify a driver issue, even if just to eliminate it as a possibility. Go to start/run and type verifier ,Then create a standards list, then select all unsigned drivers, then close it. The next blue screen error will carry additional info from Windows, telling you which driver has caused the problem. If you don't get it, then the driver is not the cause. Handy little tool, and can save a bunch of time scratching your head.
It will give a message like "The sound driver has attempted to corrupt the system, and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer", for example.

get an ubuntu desktop CD or a knoppix live cd from the internet (another computer? or a friends house? or work? or school?) and burn it etc... then reboot the computer into that CD and run the Memchecker to verify if its a RAM problem, recently my dad's computer kept rebooting on windows at random and we spent days looking around for the answer, and after pretty much everything else was checked, it was still rebooting, we ended up trying it with one of the RAM modules connected and then the other, (not both at the same time) and come to find out, 1 of the memory modules died and went bad... its been so long since we had bad memory on any of our computers so it took us a while to realize that could be the problem, check that first if possible... who knows, RAM can and usually does go bad at the strangest times especially after a long time of working fine. the reason RAM can cause a windows system to error like that or reboot or crash is because the system makes writes and reads on the hard drive but passes through the RAM before it is fully accessed, and the CPU may cause a bad read or write to/from the hard drive if there is bad memory (causes issues ) and it can either generate bad sectors on the hard drive, make programs crash, make the OS crash, generate code errors, or even reboot the system at times .

It's mean that your windows os system files are corrupted. There are two reasons that i know why the files corrupted. first maybe your computer infected by a virus specially spyware virus. run your computer in the safemode and run the antivirus because in the safemode some of spyware or virus not running on safemode so they cannot block the antivirus to detect the virus. Second, maybe your hard disk develop a bad sector that's why some of files are corrupted. to fix this you can run scandisk, click mycomputer, right click drive c: select properties, tools, check now and then check the two disk option and click ok and re start your computer. During the windows booting the windows scandisk check your harddisk for possible error or bad sector. If scandisk found bad sector you can still can use the hardisk but later on you can encountered again the same problem. It's better to replace the hard drive to make it sure a better performance

It might actually be a CPU fan malfunction... If the CPU fan isn't at full power, or isn't working at all, the computer will shut off without warning. It could be an overheating issue as well (related to the above), make sure the computer isn't stuffed into a corner or placed next to a heat source.

The "Blue Screen of Death"

Blue Screen of Death
The Blue Screen of Death (sometimes called "bluescreen", "stop error" or just abbreviated as "BSOD") is the popular name for the screen displayed by Microsoft's Windows operating system when it cannot recover from, or is in danger of being unable to recover from, a system error (the Microsoft term is Stop error). There are two Windows error screens that are both referred to as the blue screen of death, with one (Windows NT 4/2000/XP/Vista) being significantly more serious than the other (Windows 9x). There are several causes of the blue screen popping up. It can be a poorly-written device driver, bad memory, damaged registry or usage of incompatible versions of DLLs (see more on the "Types of blue screens" section).
The blue screen of death in one form or another has been present in all Windows operating systems since Windows version 3.1. It is the successor of the less well-known black screen of death that occurs in OS/2 as well as MS-DOS[1]. In early builds of Windows Vista it was complemented with a red screen of death, used for boot loader errors.

I think it could be your ram or your hard disk. Do a scan on your hard disk if possible.
