Hey, what happen to the mars project of NASA. Have they finished colonization in mars?
I really want to move in immediately. The earth stuff gets boring day by day.
Anyone has some solid information to make my immigration complete....

NASA has never sent any manned missions to Mars. Neither has anybody else. There will be no Mars colony in your lifetime.

So far, the only projects to Mars are several orbiters and 2 robotic orbiters from NASA.
The European Space Agency has the long-term vision of sending a human mission to Mars by 2030, the Aurora Program.
There is no current approved and funded plans for NASA to send a manned mission to Mars.
Colonization will likely be a decade or so after successful manned exploration of the planet.
You have some waiting to do.

Specialists will be walking on the Red Planet before 2050 barring a full scale thermonuclear exchange here on terra firma.
Regular folks (with lots of travel dough) will be able to go there before the end of the century!
These are conservative figures and in all likely-hood you can shave a decade or two off of each estimate.
In the mean time, and for all times in the distant future, the Moon, our Luna, will be a far more practical place to colonize and utilize. There are some incredible advantages in having science research and industry on the moon as compared to the Earth, or even Mars!

There already is a community that is dead serious about going to Mars and exploring it. They are the Mars sociey and actually does alot of science on their own. So you can just join them in their effort. You don´t have to start a whole new organization from scratch.

Unfortunately Mars can never be made livable as it is too tiny to hold onto a significant atmosphere. But humans should still go there and explore it. It is an important world.

They haven't even sent a person to Mars let alone starting colonising the place (it's decades off).
There are also serious doubts as to whether 0.38 g is good for humans (it might be or it might not, we don't know yet).
Oh and don't bother setting up a group to work on the problem, it would just be a distraction away from those who are already advocating a mission to Mars.

Well...I don't think that you should pack your bags quite just yet. It appears that there a few things that need to be done before you can go to Mars. The list of things to do is rather long at this point in time (October of 2007). So, to spend your time beneficially, I would recommend bottling as much breathing air as possible because you are going to need it on Mars. Get as many plastic bottles as you possibly can get ahold of and fill them full of good fresh, clean air, and tightly screw on the lid to each bottle. By my estimate you will need about 43 Million of those bottles full of air to last for 8 weeks on Mars.
Next, do the same thing for Fresh Water. My estimate is that you will need a minimum of 3.0 liters per day on Mars.
Once all of these minimal supplies are accumulated you will naturally be way ahead of anyone else in their preparations to travel to Mars.
Good luck.

Unfortunately no one has been beyond the moon. It takes years to get to Mars and once scientists invent a space craft that can travel at the speed of light (so it'd only take a few minutes to get there) but it won't happen anytime soon.

Uh, you seriously want to migrate to a place that has no liquid water, no oxygen in the atmosphere, is usually 200 below zero, and has no protection from cosmic rays?
Okay... have fun.
