I work for a landscaping company. The other day, they hired a woman. she's one of these idiots that think a woman can do anything a man can do. As we went out to the job site, she learned that carrying heavy lumber, mixing and pouring concrete and pushing a wheel barrel full of dirt was not as easy as it seemed. It turned out that I had to do my job and pick up her slack as well. At the end of the day, I told my supervisor that since I did my job, plus half of her job, I want half her pay. He agreed. he owed her $120.00 but only gave her $60.00 and gave me the ballence. She threw one of those feminest hissy fits and quit on the spot. (he was going to fire her anyway). my question is, because stories like this happen everyday, are women really that stupid to think that "equal work for equal pay" should be taken seriously? Do they ever think that maybe if they actually did equal work, they might get ahead in this world? I know they are less intelligent than us, but this is a no-brainer

I totally agree with you. If the person can't do the job, woman or man, they don't deserve to work there and get paid for it. If the woman thinks she should get equal pay for unequal work, then she's crazy.

The other arguement is that women deserve the same pay as a man as long as they have the same responsibilities and perform the same. I can see that as a valid point BUT I think if you're going for equal rights, then it should go both ways.

For example, women should be forced to register for the selective service like all men do at age 18.

I agree that you should have received half of her pay for the work you did for her. She was not qualified to handle the physical demands of your particular job. You had my full support until you decided to air your narrow-minded sexist comments about women being intellectually inferior.

Not all jobs require muscle. Some of them require more brains than braun (this means physical strength). I have a degree in engineering. I was the supervisor for mechanics and test engineers, all of them men. They will tell you that I was their favorite boss because I valued and respected their physical strength, knowledge, and experience. They in turn, treated me with the same respect. I took on every task I could possibly do, with the knowledge that they would take on the more physically demanding jobs. I trained the men in the use of complex software, test equipment and transducers. I wrote their letters and reports and edited the ones they wrote. If there was anything they didn't know how to do, they would ask me, knowing that I would find the answer if I didn't already know it.

I suspect that I am both more educated and more intelligent than you are. I do not expect that I could do your job nor do I expect that you could ever do mine. That does not make either of us superior to the other. It just means we have different skills and levels of experience in our fields of work.

Open your mind and you will find that your life will become much less frustrating.

I work a "male" job - I'm an insurance field adjuster. I climb on roofs, go under houses and do every thing the guys do - every bit as well as the guys and better than some of them.

Please pick your knuckles up from the floor and get out of here.

equal work for an equal pay does not applies to a field personnel! it only means that a worker should not receive low wages than the other co workers wherein they are in the same position and responsibilities. your employer should not deduct the wage of that woman and give it to you, thats unfair labor practice! she can sue your employer for that!
