Just wondering if nowadays in the uk, renting a property and assuming u only buy lets say 20 quid shopping a week and spend 30 in petrol, could you live on 1100 a month with your partner and a baby? My partner is disabled (club foot) and as I am also studying we can both only work part time but are considering having a child. Can you get help with the government if you are on that type of income? If not, is it doable to live on 1100 a month? Maybe some of you have had to do it?
Thanks for your help.

You can do it and you will be entitled to family tax credit or working family tax credit when the baby comes along too.

If you can rent somewhere for less than 300 per month and you have no debts then it many be possible. You get some help with tax credits and child benefit.

I suppose the most important thing to remember is that no-one ever really has enough money to look after a child, not if they earn twice or three times that amount. And its never the right time! So just do it, and enjoy it and it will all turn out alright.

It's tough to live with that kind of money, how about increasing your income while you are studying? An internet business is an easy way to create a passive income because:
1. Require small to zero capital
2. Get started right away and easily
3. Work from home or anywhere in the world as long as there is an internet connection
4. Has unlimited potential to earn money
5. No age or education requirements
6. Doesn't have to have a company

What you need to do is to learn about the internet business as much as possible to discover whether it is for you and what your strategy is. There is free information around.
Good luck.

This kind of depends where abouts in the uk your living, as if its the likes of large cities like London you have NO chance.

We have our own home and a company car, he works full time I work part and we just get by, we can afford basics and some lux, we have a 3 yr old daughter and currently trying for a second baby. Our combined income is approx £3,000 per month. We are based in Wirral Merseyside across from Liverpool

No way ,
I live with my partner and a baby and I always spend more than £1200, so for less than £1100 my life will be miserable.
IS sad if we are counting the money that should be spent for our baby's.

Tax credits may be available to you if you start a family.

Working tax credits would be available now if one of you worked 30 hours or more per week and they were over 25. If you had a child it would be 16 hours per week and aged over 16

Have to tried to claim housing benefit which may help towards your rent charge and cou ncil tax benefit?...Its worth a try and its available to everyone to apply....and is calculated on household and income. Contact your local authority

I am sorry to say no, specially if you have a car which you need to get to work . I suggest that you ask your parents to look after the baby, if they can ,and then ask your partner to look for a job to boost your income.
