Air Traffic Controller.

President Reagan refused to have the union controll all the airports of the USA and have a general strike paralyze the country. So Ronald Reagan fired all the Air Traffic Controllers who went out on strike.

Something similar happened back in the '60s when all the Greyhound bus driver went on strike and then attorney general Bobby Kennedy threatened to either arrest or fire them all since he felt they only went on strike to protest his brother's, President John F. Kennedy's, internal policies.

Sometimes the unions act like they control the country and not our elected representatives. So Reagan showed the union leaders who really was the boss!

Air Traffic Controllers. He fired them because they had gone on strike and it was just too dangerous a situation. More people were hired after Reagan fired the striking controllers. Reagan said the strike was illegal and fired them without remorse. Some members of his cabinet were actually opposed to this.

Air Traffic Controllers--Reagan was busting up the Union (PATCO) he didnt want the Union to have so much control over the Nations Airways to be able to strike and shut down all the flights!!!! which would have affected the Economy and cause Gridlock if The US had a National Emergency.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLER.
Reagan fired more than 11,000 air-traffic controllers in 1981 for staging an illegal strike. Not only he fired them but he banned them for LIFE.
