ok make a long story short, this woman owes me 1000 dollars. She was a customer in one of my stores and i KINDA knew her because she came in my store very often. Anyway, she isent a crackhead or anything but she made up this bs story about how her husband beats her (come to find out she isent even married) and she needed 1000 dollars to get his car fixed before he came back from vaction and found out she had rear ened someone, so i figured i would help her out and now its been 4 months and the ***** hasent paid up. I have her first and last name and her home phone number, what can i do to find out were she lives? If your just going to tell me to call the police dont even bother answering this question.

You are right, the police won't help as it is a civil matter not criminal.
If you don't have anything in writing showing that you gave her the money you have just spent $1000 for a lesson. If you have something you can take her to small claims court. Filing fees are pretty low and you don't need a lawyer.

if you can prove that you loaned her the money,.....with a loan agreement or something then you have a chance, but if you just gave it to her, she can say it was a gift, and you have no way of getting it back,.....
