Ipod advice?

I recently got the new ipod nano and it wouldn't sync with itunes i did everything to fix I ended up taking it back and getting a replacement that again didn't work so I took that back and gave up. Is there any point in me buying one of the other ipods (esp the touch) or will I have the same problems.

you have to register the iPod with apple before it will work.

check if your version of itunes is updated
