Mine do...and it just started a couple of months ago. It's not like your hand or foot goes to sleep sometimes..it's so asleep..if I get up during the night I have to use one arm to lift up the other. Can medication do this?

When circulation is cut off for too long a period, that will happen...especially if you also are not well hydrated [ drink more water]..and yes, medication can dehydrate you

It can happen if you're sleeping on your arm for long periods of time and cutting the circulation off. However, my mom has PID (peripheral artery disease) and neuropathy in her feet (she's diabetic) from poor circulation. It causes a numbness and burning sensation. You should talk to your doctor about your symptoms. If you are on a new medication it can cause many different side effects, so discuss your concerns with him about this also. Best wishes!

Yes, it's very likely that this position would cause your arms to go numb, even without medication. Your arms are less likely to move in this position, especially if weighted down by the pillow, thereby slowing circulation to those areas and causing numbness.

My arms do this when I have them under my pillow or when I am sleeping on them. Another thing that when I use the clippers on the shrubbery a lot I wake up with numb hands/wrists, repetitive motion injury I think.Don't know of any meds that would cause it.

That happens every night to me to. Then my dog sleeps on top of my side so both sides get numb. Today, I was taking care of my patient and holding their dog, the dog fell asleep in my arms and my hand was numb, hated waking her up too!

My arms don't get numb under my pillow but my legs and feet cramp up. Also only started lately. The Doctor said to take Calcium(which I do take), but to take Magnesium, with the calcium, as it help absorb the Calcium Also, are you getting enough water during the day? And if they do cramp, and go numb try taking a little salt in the palm of your hand. But it is always best to check this with your Doctor.

Arthritis adds to your problem, this happens to me all the time, I hurt my neck in vehicle accident years ago, my doc say arthritis has set in around my neck and shoulders, my arm and hand can go numb just from talking on the phone to long. You probably need some strong meds to help with it.

Hi Denie. Really don't think it's the medication. I just had the carpal tunnel surgery 3 wks. ago....not saying it's that, but it sounds like you have a compressed nerve, for sure. It could be anywhere, from your neck on down. If it continues, I find a good neurologist so he can pinpoint the problem. Good luck.

I've been diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel syndrome and one of symptoms is what you describe. I sleep in arm braces to hold them straight during the night. Surgery is inevitable for me but I'm waiting as long as I can.

I don't think medication will cause this to happen. I know when I sleep with my arms up they go numb.
