DDR, DDR2. Check the sticks. Need the Speed aswell

PC5700??

I think 2GB is good enough + your OS will only be able to run 3gb of it anyway...

IF your 2gb is running in dual channel then I wouldn't even bother upgrading. Cause if you throw 2gb more into your system, not only will you only be using 3, but you will actually have slower speeds that before.

Before getting more memory chips, check the specifications of your PC to see how much it will tolerate. For example, my Toshiba laptop states that RAM can be added up to 2048mb.

If you check the User's Guide which should be on your PC, it will also tell you exactly what kind of chips to buy.

You can go to http://www.crucial.com and use their tool to find out what kind of RAM (memory) your computer needs. They can even test your system and tell you what you need and have in the computer (each slot).

You can get cheap memory at http://www.newegg.com or http://www.tigerdirect.com

Open your pc out , take out the ram and read if it say DDR or DDR2 or othe things. You probably have ddr2, and make sure how many gb's your chipset can use.
