For some reason when it states "CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD A PROGRAM TO ELIMINATE THE THREAT" I do so, downloading the program, but when I run the program it states "You are making so and so run in an unusual way" and it doesn't work.

Norton is worthless-take it and anything with Symantec out of your computer. Go online and download - AVAST Antivirus-it is free and catches a lot of Trojans. It isn't foolproof however but I have found that it works very well.

Never take a command from anyone unless you know the source. I just spent two days trying to clear up. This was found by googling "black door trojan". The problem was solved by going through this protocol from Geeks to Go.

Take it slow and carefully. Follow exactly what is said. All free software. I copied to a word document rather than notepad. Will take several hours because of scanning process. Circle and underline instructions. Not hard but be sure of each step as you go.

I could not get rid of it with Adaware/Norton/McAfee/Microsoft

They also said all OK. BS.

If you can't open your browser without a million popups, and if you're computer has the threat popup when your online, i had the exact same thing. It got really bad after just a day of having it, and I had noooo clue what to do. My computer was like completely taken over by this virus, but I went to http://www.symantec.com/, and then click on help and support. The only way I could get rid of this was to call them, and ask them to fix it. It cost 100 dollars, and took about 4 - 6 hours, if you get someone knowing what they're doing. That's the only way I know how to get rid of it, otherwise it's juusst brutal.. if you have the same virus I had.

You've got adware which comes down hidden with something you downloaded. Don't click on anything that says you have a virus unless it's your virus protection program telling you this.
You can ignore this adware and just X it out when it pops up or you can do a scan at http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/
just follow directions. Shut off your virus protection while you run this scan and removal program.

listen to "greatszandor" answer above. If not AVAST free than AVG free. Or best yet get AVG Internet Security Suite 7.5
