I really like it!

Its sure unique...if you yell her name in a department store, she'll be the only one coming, whereas if you name your child "Sarah" or "Emily", a million other little ones would come.

I love the middle name! That's one of my favorites ever. If your daughter ever decides she doesn't like Esia, she can always go by "Jasmine" or "Jazzy".

Your name choices are right on track & very lovely! Good luck!

Esia with that pronunciation sounds like easy which will be the nickname that the poor girl will have to live with
Esia is NOT a made up name and is in fact a real name but pronounced like Asia but with a E(esha) it is also the name of a cell phone company
it is not a pretty name at all
if you like the pronunciation Eh see ah then maybe go with the spelling Esiah or Esyah

also think about when the child grows up could you honestly see her in a high well respected paying job such as a lawyer, medical director, teacher etc
I can only see the name Esia as a stripper, prostitute, enemployed as the first thing people see when looking at resume's,CVs is the persons name and although it wrong but most employers wont employ someone with a made up,hard to spell name

As I say all the time here in the baby naming forum - names are very personal, so try not to take anyone's response here too personally.

That said, I'm not sure I like the name Esia - for practical reasons (artistically, it's lovely). I think you will have a lot of pronunciation and spelling problems.

However, if you are firm on this idea, do some research and make sure esia isn't already a word in another language --- you never know what you might have stumbled upon ;)

Also, have you considered name meanings? Perhaps using it as a derived form of an already established name? many people like to know what their names mean. I have a small business where I make name plaques for people with meanings and favorite quotes. It is very frustrating for people with made up names to come to me, and I feel so badly for them. Sometimes we are able to work things out by finding a similar name and assuming the made up name is a derivation, we adopt the established name's meaning.

For instance, ESIA could be attached to any of these names/meanings -

*ESI - (f) Western African. Means "born on Sunday" in Akan.
*ESSA - (m) Arabic. From Isa which is a form of Jesus/Joshua, which means "YAHWEH is salvation". (I suppose you could say that Esia is a feminine form)
*ESSIE - (f) English. Nickname for Estelle - a French name which means "Star" and also a nickname for Esther - a Persian name which also means "Star".

As always, if you like the name, then use it - don't let anyone stop you! :)
CONGRATULATIONS!

Um I think many people would have trouble pronouncing that.

I like the sound of Elise Jasmin, Elizabeth Jasmin, Asia Joyce, Eloise Joy, and Eleanor Josephine

or maybe you could have Esia as a middle name

A little hard to know how to pronounce it without the (eh-see-ah). Is it (EH-see-ah) or eh-SEE-ah or what? Remember that she probably wont wanna have brackets after her name showing how to say it. So since you made it up, what does it mean? Usually names have a deeper meaning to reflect something the parents thought important. It does sound pretty though.

I love that you have made up a name. I would have pronounced it eh-sigh-ah if I hadn't had the translation but as long as you don't mind introducing her a few times you'll be great!

Esia Mae
Esia Grace
Esia Ariel

Will you be going to school with your child? How about social functions and the job scene?
Though it's wonderful to want your child to be unique by giving them a "uniquely spelled named" You must, as their parent, think if such a name may be detrimental to their well being and social development.
I agree that all names were "made -up" but we are of a social culture that does not accept "differences" easily.

Sorry, I do not care for your creative prowess when it comes to names

I LOVE the name jasmin. I've considered it for my baby, if I have a girl. Esia is unique and pretty. Plus, she will grow up her whole life being unique in her own way. My husband has a name that's rare, Flagan, and he loves how no one else in the world has it.
