People who have shed loads say money doesn't buy happiness. BUT I have never heard those words being uttered from anyone who is struggling to survive below the poverty line.
Money buys you opportunity's. Money opens doors for you. Money means people will give you the time of day and listen to what you say. With money you can have a much easier life. You can look much better! Money buys you a luxury life style. Money could buy you psychotherapy! Those things might very well then lead to you being a happier person. Also, if you have money you can choose to use it wisely to help others.... that could give you a tremendous sense of purpose and achievement...

Why do people keep missing the point of money and it's relationship to happiness? The answer to this is simple; the only thing that money ever buys in relationship to happiness is convenience. The only thing that money brings to life that's not already there is convenience. Money makes life more convenient. For some people, convenience brings happiness. Thus, sometimes, money buys happiness.

A generally-accepted answer has been established through reaching a consensus of research: money, or the means through which to obtain material goods, does buy happiness, up to a point.
"Happiness: A History," McMahon, and "A Brief History of Happiness," White, support this common-sensical notion: that having clothing, food, warmth, shelter, air-conditioning, a meaningful employment, a loving spouse and children, and faith in a loving God, are what make people happy. Beyond what money can buy of these, people do not report significant increases in happiness. E.g. Japanese people since 1950 are about six times richer, but approximately no happier.
"Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, and "Man, Master of His Desinty," O. M. Aivanhov, speak to this.
cordially,
j.

Yes, money can buy happiness. But money is not necessary to be happy.

Happiness is a state of mind and an attitude. You can't buy that. In fact, money is likely to bring cares and worries rather than contentment.

No, but it can buy things that enhance your happiness. And knowing that the money is there to see to your basic needs, and maybe a little more, relieves a lot of stress

Does a healthy stream of blood running through your body always make you happy? I am not sure, but I can assure you that without blood there would be no healthy body to sustain a happy state of physical being.
Money is to human collective living as blood is to human body. It is most sensible, most logical, reliable, and most down to earth mode of communication among people of all walks of life, of all backgrounds and of all parts of the world; people of all gender, age groups, personal disposition and social standing would understand what they need to do in order to earn desired financial rewards in return. When people speak in terms of monitory bargains of services, and the quality of those services, they make sure that they make sense that they understand, and are understood very clearly.
There is no better way found yet to run human social machinery. And I could list hundreds of thousands of things that you can do with money, if you have enough of it, but that I do not assume that I need to tell you. Instead, I ask you a question – would being able to donate blood make you feel good about yourself, or would receiving blood in the hours of stringent need, would make you feel happy and truly grateful? What do you think?

I've never had any, but I would love to try to buy some happiness. Money is very much like sex. If you have plenty, you never think about it: if you have none, that's all you think about.

No money does not buy you happiness, it buys you comfort. Comfort and happiness are two different things. You can be comfortable while being unhappy and vice versa.

Perhaps not, but it must be so wonderful just to buy whatever you want, whenever you want it. I have a verrry rich friend but I wouldn't swap lives with her. But to have money to play with, to play the property market - oh, yes, I would like that.
But, to answer your question, no, it doesn't - people make you happy, not money.
