I need help.. My ex husband does not allow our children to speak with me. He has our children weekly on his days off (which are during the work week). I never try to make contact with our children just because I feel that it is his time with them. But there are times when our children call me and ask that I call them back but when I do he either tells me that I can't talk to them or that they're busy. Only to find out that he never told them I returned their call. For example, today my daughter called me at work and left a voice mail message for me to return her call. I called her back and my ex answered the phone. I asked to speak with her and he asked if he if he could ask me a question.. I'm at work, so I told him no... His reply was that since he couldn't ask me a question then I couldn't speak with our daughter.... I never do this to him.... What can I do? She has a cell phone but he tells her to turn it off.. The only way I can talk to them is going through him...

You got to talk to him it is your right to talk to your children because of their safety. Make sure you are nice about it but if he doesn't comply then you can take him to court.

He is a complete butt head and your kids must be told about whats happening... The girls have the phone for a reason and thats to stay in touch with mom... Are his visatations due to a court order? If so I think you should go back to domestic relations and explain about the cel phone.. If not go to domestic relations and get an exact game plan... Good luck Grant M in Pennsylvania

Pre-arrange a time each day that your children are with their father for them to call you. Explain to them that this way you will be sure to be there and not miss their call. If you do have to be away from your home or office phone, call forward the phone to your cell.
This solution ensures you maintain contact with them and reduces your ex's opportunity to play mind games with you and your kids. He's trying to make you look bad to them, you need to be creative in finding ways around it. Remain a bigger person than him, though, and don't make him look bad to his kids until they're adults and can judge him for themselves.

you need to contact the family court & let them know what is happening. You have a right to talk to your kids even if it is dad's days to have them. And expecially when your children are calling you & asking you to call them back.
But just remember that if you do take this back to family court & the court mandates that he let you talk to them, he might come up with something even meaner then next time. So weigh the pros & cons of this situation & decide what you want to do.

legally u r allowed to tlk 2 ur children if ur ex husband is preventing u from doing dis then u can contact the lawyer (be4 u do dis tell him dis intention so he can back off or if he doesn't then call ur lawyer)
don't ur children use im or email, u should try dis 2

he has got some issues!
i think that i would start returning the 'favor' with him...when he calls you and wants to talk to the kids...tell him no

Just because your kids are with their dad is no reason for you not to be able to speak with them. Take to your lawyer and ask him what can be done to rectify this.

He sounds like a psycho and he probably doesnt need the kids. I dont know of anyone who acts this way

start doing it to him when you have the children.
If he can't handle it, then he has to change how he is with them.
