Rivers can be either a blessing or a downfall in many situations. Back in the old days, like during the first civilizations, they would make their houses next to rivers so they could transport goods up and down to other tribes/groups of people. It was also a source of food, from having to fish, and it supplied water for irrigation so they could make a more flourished garden. It also attracted animals to the river, to drink, so they would have more animals to hunt. But nowadays, since we have better methods of transporting materials, the rivers are being toxicated. When farmers use hazardous suppliments of their products (to help grow, and to increase their size) the waste goes into the river, causing a toxic polution throughout the river. After the water cycle, the water is evaporated into the clouds, and rained out again, and it makes our society a little more hazadorous everytime.

RIVERS PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION, POWER TO MANUFACTURE AND TO MILL GRAIN THROUGH THE USE OF WATER WHEELS, AND FOOD IN THE FORM OF FISH AND OTHER AQUATIC LIFE. IN ADDITION THEY ALLOW FOR GROWTH AS THE POPULATION INCREASES AND MOVES UPSTREAM OR DOWN. THEY CAN HINDER GROWTH AND POPULATION IF THEY ARE EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE UNLESS BRIDGER AND IT TAKES A MATURE POPULATION TO PROVIDE ENGINEERS.
