I love fantasy books about things out of the ordinary and that have dragons in them. I am a girl and thirteen years old. Some books I have read that I really like are Inkheart and Inkspell by Cornelia Funke, The Fire Within books by Chris D'Lacey, and Eragon and Eldest. As you can see, I like long and interesting books, especially series and books with sequels. Any other good books I might like?

These have been suggested before, but I'll echo The Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis and The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien.
You may enjoy The Neverending Story by Michael Ende or The Princess Bride by S. Morgenstern or Stardust by Neil Gaiman.
A really good adventure series is The Cooper Kids Adventure series by Frank Peretti. It is about the two siblings whose father is an archaeologist. They travel all over the world with him and encounter strange things and have to solve mysteries that involve legends, etc.
Frank Peretti wrote The Veritas Project Books: Hangman's Curse and Nightmare Academy. He also wrote The Oath and House (with Ted Dekker). You may enjoy them, too.
Though it's completely different than your usual type of books/series, I highly recommend the Anne of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery. They are enchanting stories filled with wonderful imagination.
You may also enjoy The Time Quartet by Madeleine L'Engle or A Walk in Wolf Wood by Mary Stewart or At the Back of the North Wind by George MacDonald.
There is also Dragonheart by Charles Edward Pogue. It was written AFTER the movie, but goes into more detail.

I have a collection of books for you from one author that specializes in horror books. The author is Christopher Pike. He's one of the most loved authors when it comes to horror. He has many books that are a mixture of love and horror. If you think you are mature enough, try out his books. I recommend 2 books especially which are: Road to Nowhere, and the 6 book series of "The Last Vampire". The vampire book is a little mature but I think that if you like to read, then you are mature enough for any book. Also, another author, James Patterson, wrote 3 books so far in a series called "Maximum Ride". I believe he is still working on them. This book is about mutant children. I don't want to spoil the fun for you so I won't say anymore. Also, another good thing is that a 14 year old girl is narrating the whole book, in her perspective. It's hilarious at times but very serious also. I am 14 years old and I love that book.

Lois Duncan. I loved her books. If you like series with sequels, try V.C. Andrews. I still read them. The oldest are the best; the newer ones are written by Andrew Neiderman as a ghost writer. My policy is always to read a non-fiction book that pertains to my interests, a self-help book, and a pure lose-yourself-in-mindless-fiction book at the same time. I have been reading since I was four and I am now thirty-six.

Well, I have a great series in mind called the Shadow Children series. This series is written by Marget Peterson Haddix. They are not that long about 150-200 pages a book, but it will keep you turning the pages! This book is science fiction and is about illegal third children. There are different stories about children who are third children and the diffucilties they have in life. If they caught they are too be killed. I'm not really that great at describing things but I can assure you that this series is worth while to read!!!! Happy reading!!!!!!!!

Read the series "his dark materials" by Philip Pullman. The first one is The golden Compass, the second is the Subtle Knife, and the last one is the Amber Spyglass. The Golden Compass may be a little slow at first but it gets REALLY good as it progresses
