Solved? We are way past solving it. We have bred it. The lack of family influence or no family has a huge hand in why it is a problem. Only a family can teach good morals, respect, and a feeling of unity that these thugs are getting from gangs. When kids have babies with multiple fathers and mothers and delight in calling themselves things like baby mamas and baby daddies, you have nothing to offer these kids but a path to gang life. Without a family to guide kids toward good schooling and career paths, their career paths are on the corner selling drugs. Sorry, everyone has the chance to change no matter where they started, but most of these kids decide the "easy" path instead. And the rap and hip hop industry has only helped promote it. So there is no solving it unless those who are involved in it change their ways and their lifestyle.

We need to start having more families, instead of single parents. Most gang members run to gangs for that fatherly, family feeling.
