and i'm doing it on european schools vs. american schools. does anyone know where i can find information comparing these and what should i write about? thanks in advance!

I would first suggest you narrow your speech down, if you are able, to, say, American schools vs. British schools or American schools vs. German schools. Otherwise, your topic is too general because many differences do exist from one European country to another. Culturally speaking, all Europeans do share similar backgrounds but there are distinct differences as you move from east to west and from north to south.
