If they would learn to deal properly with forested areas they would not have yearly fires.

If it were mainly forested areas that were on fire -- then your comment might have some vague relevance.

It's not -- it's homes, schools, industrial areas, playgrounds, ranches, city parks -- the kind of places where people use to live and work before they were forced to evacuate.

Every part of the world has its own disasters -- in southern California (and other dry, scrub desert areas) -- one of the dangers is brush fires.

It doesn't matter what you do to the heaving forested areas that are several hundred miles north of where the devastation is -- that's not going to change what happened.

And anyone trying to turn a natural disaster and a tragedy affecting hundreds of thousands of people into a political stump speech should be ashamed of themselves.

A big one we should probably sign on to the carbon credit game ASAP so we can pay our credits this year by using the 10th largest economy in the world!! Which makes me wonder why they need federal help since they are so rich and all.

Yeah, now you are in the liberal ball park, see how you can make money off of global warming. Also you can see how worthless those hybrids and CFL's are when a fire can wipe out years of conservation in just a few minutes, just think how many light bulbs you would need to change in order to counter a volcano eruption.
P.S. It is the liberal democrat environmentalist like the sierra club that will not allow forest thinning.

Babe: Carbon Credits, "that is hilarious".

I can tell you the Lake Arrowhead fire was more than likely directly related to not allowing dead trees to be cleared out. They are dead from borer beetles.

Parts of California are naturally designed to burn. It's for the ecosystem. It will burn regardless if there are humans or not.
