Funny you should ask I am just transcribing a series of cardio tapes on the very subject!

No, although a few times I was sure I was. I actually got a good cardio checkup done this Spring. Healthy as can be. I suddenly started having (or noticing) these wicked palpitations, really bad and I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to the ER twice that weekend and finally someone hooked me up with a cardiologist. They ran me through the gammut of tests. Turns out they were harmless. But it was my body literally screaming for me to slow down. It was just stress, lack of sleep, too much caffeine. I really had to make myself slow down and just do NOTHING... but that is hard for us Type A's.

I absolutely hate McDonalds...the minute I eat even so much as a fry I regret it. How people can eat there and not feel nauseous afterwards I just don't know. I hate KFC just as much, and Taco Bell.

The problem is by the time a person HAS a heart attack, their veins are 70 percent clogged or more, and it's a chunk of that plaque which breaks off that causes the heart attack. Or the blood becomes so full of fat (cholesterol) that a clot forms somewhere in the body then breaks away and moves to the heart and voila, a heart attack. When the heart is deprived of oxygen for too long the tissue dies, that is if you don't have a massive attack and just kick the barrel.

Remember too the heart is a muscle so no exercise and too much fat makes it work overtime. McDonalds is the last place one should be eating. People are having heart attacks in their 20s and 30s today which is really scary and for sure has to do with diet.

Frankly, if I want a burger and fries I just make them at home. A little extra work but I know what goes into it.

Besides, I can't let all this Italian heritage go to waste and not COOK you know? Maybe I'll open my own restaurant one day and show these folks what real food is all about. LOL

PS I'm proud to say my daughter went on a NO McDONALDS EVER AGAIN crusade and is going on 2 years strong now! LOL. Now if I could have hubby not cave in and take the boys...that's men for you.

I have played that game and tried to win, but I have never had a heart attack yet.....Please don't tell me one is on its way because I would have to stop eating there when I can!

I've had a heart attack, but not from McDonald's food (or any other kind of food); someone beat me up & broke my sternum, and I already have heart problems.

: )
