I have a Sony pair of headphones and i plug them in with my coby mp3 player and no sound will come out so i put different pair of headphones in and they work fine i looked at the wiring and there are no snips of wire missing how can i look at the speaker part of them here is the model of the headphones Sony h.ear Sports Headphones, MDR-J11G

if they are not working, it is probably due to a snapped wire inside the plastic protector, usually caused by the wire being twirled, folded, or pulled repeatedly. Mine did that too and there is not much you can do about it.

Well i would suggest as well trying to use it on a different audio device like your computer or an old mp3 player or cd player and if it still doesn't work then there is no point it trying to open them up and fix them because headphones die out over time. There not that expensive to replace and if you haven't had them for long and u still have the receipt, go to the store and get them to replace it. Always keep receipts, they can come in handy!

The simplest way to test the headphones is to try them on an alternate audio device such as your computer speaker jack, or some speakers have headphone jacks on them, plug them in there and see if they work. Or if you have another MP3 player you can try them there.

Digitaldealz.net has them for a pretty good price if you need some new ones.
