The highest point in India is Kanchenjunga, with an elevation of 28,169 (8,586 m) above sea level, and is the third highest mountain in the world. It is located in the Himalayan Range. However, the mountain is not located entirely in India as some of it is in Nepal.

The highest mountain that is located entirely within India's borders is Nanda Devi, at an elevation of 25, 663 ft. above sea level (7,824 m) making it the 20th highest peak in the world. This peak is also part of the Himalayan Range.
