A free agent is free to negotiate with any team that is interested in him and sign with the team that gives him the best offer. In mostl cases, the player takes the deal from the team that offered the most money.

The real free agent season does not start until after 15 days after the World Series is over. During the two weeks after the World Series, currently signed players still belong to their clubs and those clubs have the exclusive opportunity to sign them to new contracts. After that, www.mlb.com has a free agent tracker. You just type in the position, name, team or scroll through to find out what has been going on in signings, trades, arbitrations, etc.

depending on what team the player played for- before trade of free agency, you can visit the teams website and view their roster transactions month by month. or go to mlb.com and search the players name and it should give the history of his career. ive done it before

Your phrasing is a bit unclear - are you looking for historical information or information on free-agents this offseason?
