I have Huntington Beach "Twill" pants from hollister. I got a size 3 long because last time i bought these exact pants [in a size 1, i was smaller then.] and they shrunk up too short and i couldnt wear them at all. so this time i got a three long in case the legs shrunk up. well after a normal wash, they are a little shorter, but still long, but that isnt my concern. the waist [while VERY VERY low rise] is way too loose. when i put on a belt, the fabric fold over and it looks tacky. Is there any way i can wash my pants so that they will shrink?? i dont care about the legs shrinking more, they are very long. Hot water? cold water? hot dry? cold dry? i dont know. help please!!!

I second the tailoring suggestion. Pants may shrink in length somewhat, but this is due to the weave of the cotton fabric tightening up when the threads constrict. Cotton pants will not shrink minches in the waist, but getting the back seam taken in is a really easy alteration that should only cost 10 or 15 dollars.

Well pardner, there is a cowboy or Rodeo trick that cowboys use and that is to wash the pants in extremely hot water (soaked) then after cooling them down you wear them until dry. The heat on the body, and sun will shrink them to fit. Try it and see.

Yo can't shrink them selectively like that. you need to take them to a tailor and characteristic the legs tapered. Then, for sure, they gained't be a UNIform, will they? they'll deliver you homestead until eventually you could take position contained in the "good" pants.

You don't shrink clothes that don't fit properly, you have them tailored. Not everyone's body fits all the crazy sizes the company's come out with. You buy the best fit you can and have tailored what doesn't. But nothing shrinks to your size no matter what you do.
