you must ALWAYS use protection. there is never a time of the month where you can't get pregnant.

Not unless you use protection because you can get pregnant anytime during the month.
Ovulation normally occurs 10-14 days prior to your period but not in all cases. Sperm can also live up to 72 hours in your body.

It is never safe to have unprotected sex at any time.

Even protected you have a 1% chance of pregnancy.
