I've heard you have to complete a quest first at high level (probably in an instance at the end of a long quest chain.)

After you have unlocked the class you will be allowed to create a new character as that class.

okay so my friends mom works for blizz and she said that it is going to be like the whole heroic dungeons thing were you will be required to get a certain amount of rep with someone to unlock the deathknight and also the character wont be starting at 1 they will start somewhere between 40 and 55
