What are your experiences of bullying on here?

I am asking this because I have seen a lot of posts over the past few days about bullying on here and I would just like to know people's personal experiences and whether they were resolved or ongoing.

Eden - I am so sorry for what you have been through.

Eden - I am getting a couple of different stories here and I always like to give people their basic right to tell their side of the story. Is it true about the abusive emails and your boyfriend trying to get someone sacked or is this part of the bullying you have had to put up with?

Clio - that sounds really nasty, do you think it may be down to jealousy?

there is no need for nasty emails or personal statements posted in some answers

bullying - this gets bandied about too much these days

in the school playground if a child does not want to play with another the first is a bully

everyone has a choice - what they say and what they do

if you intend to make someome feel bad about themselves, if you send insulting or threatening emails - then you probably are a bully

if you receive these emails and nasty comments maybe you are being bullied

stop it now - there is no need...........

My school years were hell for me. I was picked on immensely for being the girly guy, and everyone made it a point to show me how much they hated me. It started my long battle with depression, and made me even more of a recluse than I already was. One guy threatened me with a knife at one point. This was back when Columbine and the Matthew Shepard case had just happened, and bullying had come into the spotlight as a major problem for many middle and high school students. I don't know where people get off treating others so awful just because they have a different lifestyle than their own. It's been close to 15 years since all of that, and the hurt is still there. I always tried to be nice to everyone and stay out of everyone's way, but still took all that crap from them. People just do not know how much you can drive someone to the edge by bullying them. There is no need for any of it....if you don't agree or like someone, stay the hell away from them, but do not treat them like some trash on the ground.

Whether or not the trouble on current affairs is caused by bullying is arguable. There is, however, no question about the fact that certain users are using this site as a chat room to be used in order to insult other users.
Whilst I acknowledge the arguments that some people put forward in that if you feel harassed you should go to another site, I do not agree with it. This is a question and answer forum and those who are out of place are those who indulge in spiteful chat and wild allegations about
other users.
It seems inconceivable to these people that other users are becoming increasingly bored or
fed up with their antics so they allege that all those who oppose them must be the same person posting under different ids. I suppose that that is their comfort zone.
Take it from me that Nimrod is not Darcy38, he is not Jim g he is purely and simply Nimrod. H is not a bully and has only responded to the vile attacks made on his partner. He has had a very serious accident which, though that causes much merriment in some of the soulless people on here, means that he has not been posting either as Nimrod or anyone else. What Mrs Grohl says is untrue.
Those people who do not support the gang of trolls on here are not, themselves, a gang. People like Darcy38, Jim g, Soothsayer, Clio etc have reached the same conclusion about the trouble makers quite independently of one another. The number of people who agree with them is growing daily and this is something that the likes of Mrs Grohl should accept. Meanwhile, she can lay off Nimrod who is not here to defend himself.

People are very sad if they feel they an bully people on here. Sad because it's a safe place where there are confronted by words. In the real world I guess they are non-entities that no-one notices and here is the only place where they can be noticed ? To all the peeps that feel they are being bullied on here, tell them to fekk off and report them. Best of all.........IGNORE THEM

Well i have my first taste of 'bullying' on here a couple of weeks back. I answered a question and she didn't like my answer, because i did not agree with her way of thinking. Next think I'm blocked from seeing her profile and she is going through all my answers and answering them and trying to put me down. I have received many violations, which i can only assume are from her, as i have never had any previous to this. Every answer she now gives refers to me (not by name) and what a 'pathetic loser' I'm for following her around lol (these are all underneath my answers though!). I finally blocked her but she keep making up different id's just so she could access my answers profile (desperate!), hence the reason it is now set to private.
I have chosen to just keep on ignoring her and not retaliate, i refuse to lower myself to her level of childishness.

could i take this opportunity to clear up a couple of points raised
Eden, you wash your dirty linen in public, i simply commented on the inconsistencies of your story
i was not aware of Nimrod having a near fatal accident- there seems to be a great deal of misfortune in this household, perhaps its Karma, if your good to others good things happen and vice versa
with regard to multiple identities it is a remarkable coincidence that four of the accounts linked together on here
can be traced to a small village in Yorkshire.
i have variously been described as a tw*t, lower than a beast, and other choice things
never in my postings have i been abusive toward others,yet i have received plenty of abuse, this is the reason i made my Q&A private, someone was systematicly trolling through and posting violations on eveything i did.
my E-mail is open to all, and i have no blocked users, unlike some who have posted comments about me
as a conclusion, how concerened at the lack of approbation or esteme some contributors hold?
frankly, to me, it matters not one whit

I honestly don't believe you can call anything that happens on YA bullying...harassment maybe, but not bullying.

Nobody knows us in RL and so cannot affect us at all..emails you can delete and questions can be ignored. Some people enjoy playing what they think are mind games...in reality these people cannot invade our minds or our lives and the best way to deal with it is to laugh it off....if someone finds you interesting enough to talk about you then let them get off on it while you get on with your life...at the end of the day it's eating them up more than it should be bothering you.

I know for a fact that Eden has been horribly targeted for some time now and, as you can see Sandy, it is still going on. Other people targeted are Nimrod, who's one of the nicest guys anyone could wish to meet, Jim g and Darcy 38. The bully gang are convinced that Nimrod and Darcy are the same person, but they are way out in that wild guess. A few people have also been threatened with their accounts being specifically targeted until they are suspended. The bullies are quite open about this and actually post these comments.
Current events has been infiltrated by some odd people. It has gone way beyond playground stuff now and is really wicked.

Edit: I think some of it may be down to jealousy yes. What worries me more is the amount of lies being told about other people ie that Nimrod is Darcy38. I know both Darcy38 and Nimrod and I know for a fact that they are two different users.
I have no intention of revealing Darcy38's identity but I wish the likes of Mrs Grohl would stop spreading disinformation. It helps nobody, particularly herself.
The allegations made on Obanpussyginger's post could do with some explanation, otherwise they are just more unfounded allegations. I am sure we all would like to know about this Yorkshire village! Come on, obanpussyginger, put your money where your mouth is! As for this user's statement that bad luck is deserved, then I think we can infer all we need to know about him from that one remark alone.

Edit: Obanpussyginger, lol. You are ridiculous. I do not live in North Yorkshire, nor do I live in a village. Get a grip.

I'm really, really disappointed because no-one seems to pick on me...

As for bullying on here? Jeez, get a grip. Unlike real life people have the option of logging off and moving on if they don't like it. I actually find the question quite offensive because bullying in real life has caused people to take their own lives. You can't compare the two things.

EDIT: Thanks JRC. So this is what feels like. I'm not liking it very much. As a matter of fact, I'm going to cry...I might even just go and chuck myself under a bus....no...hold on. I think what I'm actually going to do is completely ignore and ask you how you know I take my pleasure from mother fist and her five daughters? Oh woe is me, the secret's out... ;-)
