Not if you are a real writer. Then you don't pack it in, you go out and get whatever you lack. You stay in school. You continue to build your language skills. You read and expand your comfort zone in reading. You overcome.
There are NO NATURALS when it comes to poetry. If anyone tells you they didn't have to learn, that they just "started writing" and it was all good--they're a liar or deluded or both.

Don't say that you're a bad writer. I remembered an English teacher once telling me that nobody enjoys writing. But everybody loves the end product they receive from it. Trust me, if you love writing, don't let another person's opinion ever interfere with that. I love writing myself and yet, I still get 80s on my essay tests. But whatever. I continue writing whatever expresses me. And I think you should do the same. By the way, the poem is not bad. It's just a little beyond my comprehension. I think you should continue the poem because it doesnt make sense from what I'm reading. What's causing the sounds? Add more details! Specify what you're talking about. Just because something sounds good doesnt mean it necessarily is good.

I just read "Pennies for the Fountain."
There's some amazing imagery in there, and it's very creative. Your only trouble seems to be with the technical aspect; your ideas are incredible, and you seem to have a lot of inspiration.
Take a poetry class, and try to learn a bit about meter, assonance, metaphors, etc-- you should definitely share your ideas with the world! You only need to learn to convey them better.
You're a great writer-- just keep practicing! :D

I've been through that myself. I can understand. I have got angry at people here, many of them made stupid jokes of what I wrote, some were encouraging, some liked my stuff, but I prefer now to answer rather than ask questions.
Sorry to hear that, maybe you will continue writing, without caring what other people think...

Write from you!!! Don't concern yourself what other do or say. Continue to write, hone your skills. Use others as reference but never mimic and you will find your own way. Remember it only has to make sense to the artist. Writing, poetry in particular is a beautiful thing....don't give up
Write on poet!!

don't give up so quickly, if it's something you enjoy doing then you should keep trying. maybe you just need a little inspiration. there is a reason you like writing, so you can't be so bad at it, you should take a writing class, or talk to someone who shares that same passion with you, pick up a few pointers, and try again.

Never give up. The only way your writing to get better is to continue at it.

No you don't. You know you have talent. I've read so much of your writing and it has moved me, made me laugh, brought tears to my eyes, inspired me and made me happy to know you. If you want to quit writing fine, but it's not because you don't have talent. Maybe you just don't want it enough. I hope thats not it.

Being an artist depends on what people consider as art. So some would say you are a good writer, others will put you down.
Listen to your heart, if you like what you do then Just Do It!
Edit: Dancing Bee once again. Hey Chap, who has put you as the critic in this section?
Edit: Art is freedom, its not bounded by any laws.
Edit: Dancing Bee, just crap! I have never seen you seeing the good things in poems in this section, all I hear is your nagging and criticizing. You act as if you only know how to compose poetry. Show us your poetry Lad!
Edit2: Big Boy, I read one of your posts " a poem" I didn't find it interesting and lacking of imagery and meanings are just unclear or inconclusive! would you consider what I said? why? do you know me? NO! Do you know what do I do? NO!
I don't care what you think! its not worth arguing with you!
