You say below the Congo and North of the Kalahari:
Are you sure you did not confuse the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly known as Zaire) & the Republic of the Congo? This confusion is quite common.

Starting from the country named The Republic of the Congo and heading south towards the Kalahari Dessert you have the Congo Basin which is in former Zaire & formerly known as the Belgian Congo, then there is Angola which has never changed its name.

(The Republic of Congo was renamed in 1971 to the Republic of Zaire. In 1997, Zaire was renamed to the Democratic Republic of Congo.)

The word Congo means: The one that eats it all (or similar meaning the same depending on the language group).

Bye!!!!
