I hear you bud. I'm in the same boat, I'm a working professional that enjoys a bowl after work. No worse in my eyes than a glass of wine or a cocktail. Those who think it is bad have been brainwashed by government propaganda. It is a fact that marijuana can be used in place of numerous drugs. Drugs that have in fact killed people through overdoses or drug interactions. Pharmaceutical companies are trying soooo hard to keep it illegal and this is a shame. Alcohol has killed far more people and caused far more of societies problems. Cigarettes like you said cause lung problems, the only drawback for pot. It really depends on the person whether or not it leads to harder drugs. I've done about everything in my college years and now I only smoke pot. Same could be said of alcohol. Some are content with a few drinks other binge drink. Pot has not been proven conclusively to kill brain cells. The original claim was done with 4 pot smoking monkeys in the 70's with no control group and the amount ingested was 1000 times more than a normal human would smoke. People need to learn the facts before they demonize pot. It seems to me that the people that say pot is ok are the people that actually do it, those who don't are misinformed and ignorant of their statements.

You are unlikely to get an unbiased answer but I'll try as well as I can. Positive effects - relaxation, loss of tension, increased appetite, things become funnier, often articulation of thoughts becomes easier, lots of people become more sociable whilst stoned, generally activities are more enjoyable Negative effects - (it should be noted that these will for the most part not occur, but are possible) - mild paranoia, confusion, slower thought patterns The worst thing that could happen is to 'whitey'. This is when you smoke too much too fast and become dizzy and nauseous, often throwing up. To avoid this, never smoke more than you know your body can handle, and if you have never done it before, take it slow. The effects of marijuana take time to take effect, and there's nothing worse than smoking too much. Like all things in life. moderation is key :-) Hope I've been helpful and unbiased. PS. There is no such thing as a 'gateway drug' that makes your body 'want other drugs'. Not according to scientific research anyway!

I don't smoke pot. I don't care if you do. I agree it's not a gateway drug. I know people that have been smoking pot daily for over 30 years!. They have good jobs, own homes, raise healthy, smart children. If they have damaged brain cells, you would never know it. My issue with it is only that it's illegal. If you have it at my house, in my car, on my boat, etc. and are caught with it, I will be in trouble. Other than that, you can smoke pot to your hearts content. :)

i smoke weed, so what? Like you mentioned, marijuana doesn't affect my coherence nor does it alter my mind in any way. It's a relaxant, if anything. I have never heard of people high on marijuana, getting into fights, stabbing and shooting each other - stories that are way too common with alcohol involved. I went to university and got a degree and I was high 75% of the time, my IQ is 127. I know too many people who are quick to blame everything but themselves. Please realize that if your kids fail their classes and drop out of school, it is not because they are smoking joints, but because you have failed them as parents by not instilling proper work ethics in them. And as for the health hazards, alcohol, caffeine and nicotine account for majority of deaths in US, and that's about as far as this argument would have to go, but that's just the tip of the iceberg - marijuana has the potential to be txed and bring government an additional 30 billion a year - more money for health care, public education and pension plans. Maybe if most people weren't so stubborn, biased or insecure, this country woun't be such a bad place

first of all get rid of all your pot. pot and other drugs AND alcohol kill MANY brain cells and once they are dead, they are dead and you are basically stupifying yourself. i know someone who was and still is a hardcore pothead for over 30 years and he slurs his words and talks very slow like this
"hey............................... whats......................................... up"
im not even kidding, now that his brain has lost so many cells it slows everything down. do you really want to act like a 90 year old by the time you 30? i think not.

I do not have to be an oven to know how to bake. Pot kills brain cells and these cells never return. It eventually will turn your brains into oatmeal so if you do not mind then help yourself HONEY!!!!
