first period on September 2, 2007. It lasted 7 days. Well It's October 23 and she still hasn't had her second period. Should I be worried? Or wait until It shows up again?

don't be worried at all. it is totally normal for girls when they get their first period. for the first couple of years your period is off track. sometimes you get it every six months sometimes every 2,3 it could be anytime. Good Luck! :)

P.S. your secret is safe with me. ;)

It is completely normal for her period to be irregular at this point and it can take about 2 years for a regular pattern to develop. Teach your daughter to mark a calendar when she is on her period and that way she can keep track of what her own pattern is. Also, 11 is still a bit young to start her period, unless you started your period about that age too, just wait and see, it could be a long while before her next one and she could have a little longer than most before she has a regular cycle.

At the age of 11 I would say that it's nothing to worry about. I remember being young and having my first at age 12. There were months when it would not come at all, so my mother took me to an OB/GYN and I was regular. But since I was young I have always had severe cramping, bloating, pains, and irregular periods. Try seeing what they think is best. They put me on Ortho Tri Cyclen birth control pills when I was 14 and the hormones actually helped alot and made me regular. GOOD LUCK

At first it is normal for a period to be very irregular. The first 2 years of a period are normally not regular.

The best thing is for her to keep a pad in her purse during those weeks she may think she might have it. Put don't stress it to much.

At that age, it is not normal to get the period at exact same date. After a while she will start to get the period more in the same week and then more in exact 1 month.

No, I don't think so. They can be VERY irregular at the beginning! Sometimes months to a year in between them within the first couple of years of it. The body is not at all used to this and it will take a while for it to adjust to this new cycle (especially as she is soo young, she should also be happy that it has not come again yet ;)!). Hope this helps and good luck!
Also, it is a good idea to mark the dates that it begins and ends on a calendar with a little dot or astrix etc.

Don't worry, it may not be very regular until she has been getting it for a little while.

Everyone is different.

My daughter got hers twice (she is also 11) and it had only been one time spotting each time she got it. (she still hasn't been able to tell me about it she keeps saying I don't know when I ask her) but she has always busted in on me in the bathroom and I am having a hard time understanding why she won't say.

Girls who first get their periods may take a long time to get on a regular schedule. It may skip a month. It may come early. Etc., etc., etc. But eventually it will get better. It may take a few years, though. Heck, it wasn't until I got on the Pill in my 20s that I actually started having regular periods. So, nothing really to worry about!

No worries. It is totally normal for a girl's cycle at that age to be irregular. It can take several months and more for it to be normal. I recall when I first got mine it was very light and lasted a day or two and then it was nearly two months before it started again. I'm sure she is perfectly fine:)

It is normal to have the periods be irregular for a time because of the body trying to adjust to the changes going on inside of it, but I would recommend having her see the doctor as well to see what they say.

I wouldn't be worried they are all over the place when they start, mine were sometimes 2 weeks apart sometimes 6. Given her age I wouldn't worry, if nothing happens within another 3 weeks go to the doctor but it sounds normal.

No don't be worried at all. I got my period in May and I didn't get my second one till August, and that still happens to me I had it for 3 years. I asked about it before but people say that we just got lucky and it will be normal soon.
