I'm not entirely convinced it would be a mistake, though a lot more needs to be done on the diplomatic side before taking any action that drastic.

Do Bush, Cheney & Co. indeed intend to attack Iran? I don’t know, but my suspicion that they might is getting stronger. Why? Because George W. Bush is nearing the end of his term in office. If it ends the way things look now, he will be remembered as a very bad — if not the worst — president in the annals of the republic. His term started with the Twin Towers catastrophe, which reflected no great credit on the intelligence agencies, and would come to a close with the grievous Iraq fiasco.
There is only one year left to do something impressive and save his name in the history books. In such situations, leaders tend to look for military adventures. Taking into account the man’s demonstrated character traits, the war option suddenly seems quite frightening.

Either the US or Israel will take out their weapons, nuke facilities and ability to make war. This will happen once all diplomatic talks with Iran fail.

this would be a huge mistake i dont know where these people come off saying that it would not be a mistake i mean come on we have nuclear weapons why cant they have them for self defense against a war-monguel government such as the USA if he gets the chance i belive he will but it will lead to WW 3 and the end of the world as we know it and yes we do have nuclear weapons so dont say that we dont i know people that have seen them up close and personal

This would not be a mistake. Attacking Iran would remove a terrorist government from the world stage. This is a government that wants to eliminate Israel and create atomic weapons.
