Help! My monitor/ screen resolution (the colours in the display, im not sure of the correct term) of my computer (pentium 4, windows XP) are all screwed up. It looks like the computer is running in safe mode, but it isn't. It was all screwed up after my brother ran a game, rebooted the computer and uninstalled the same game. Already tried a system restore and fiddled with the monitor options and the colours are still screwy. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Or what i could try to fix it?

I would uninstall the video drivers, reboot and then install them again.

It would probably be worth downloading the latest version of the system/motherboard/graphics card manufacturer's web site.

have you tried right clicking on your desktop > properties > settings

change the colour to highest 32bit and possibly resolution of 1024 x 768.

if that doesnt work then your driver may be missing or currupt.

go to control panel > system > hardware > device manager and check the status of your graphics card.

if you need to download a new driver then google the name of your graphics card.

Right-click on desktop and go into display settings and see if you can change "colors" to whatever the highest option is(32bit if you have it) If you can't you'll have to reinstall the video drivers.

right click on your desktop, choose properties, then choose the settings tab on the upper right... make sure "Color Quality" is set to 24 bit or 32 bit...
