It sounds like the START of your period. You are "spotting." When your period comes, it will be bright red blood. That will either happen today or tomorrow, or it will stop. Then it may start next month.

Keep some pads on hand. Wear pantyliners in the meantime. If you feel some lower stomach pains, you'll know your period is coming. It'll take a while for your hormones to regulate themselves. Keep some Midol on hand too, in case you get stomach cramps. You'll be fine, Sweetie. :)

Yes, that's your period! When you first get it it's always a brownish color. Period's usually last anywhere from 3-7 days! Your periods can be irregular too! You may not get one next month.. or you may be a few weeks late! Make sure to bring pads with you to school(have them in ur purse & backpack). Good Luck. Oh & if u get bad cramps... get a heating pad~!!

You got your period. When your period first starts, it can be brownish colored and when it gets started really good (later in the first day or second day) it gets bright red. Also, toward the end of your period, the blood can get darker and become brownish again. This is just a normal occurrence.

That IS your period. Many girls have dark brown periods when they first get them. They will eventually turn to the bright red color normally associated with blood. However, most women have dark brown blood (it's old blood--either left over from a previous period, or blood that took a long time to get out of your body) at the beginning or end of their periods.

Talk to your mom when she gets home, and you can go to beinggirl.com, and tampax.com for more info about periods.
