I must admit, Ohio State has played a pretty easy schedule. But they have dominated each of the games that they have played. When your defense is holding opponnents to under 7 points game, when your defense has allowed 4 offensive TD's all season, and when your defense has forced opponents to go 3 and out on half of the possessions, you have a GREAT DEFENSE...no matter who you played. Would these numbers been different if they had played LSU, Oklahoma, or USC? Of course they would. Let's not forget that OSU played a home/home with Texas the last two years. And starting next season, they will be playing USC home/home. So forgive OSU for having one season in which they can't find a large big time opponent to play. Its not their fault that the rest of the Big Ten has sucked for so long. They play who's on the schedule, and that's all they can do. I promise you that you won't see them lay down in the title game this year, like they did last year. They have a huge chip on their shoulders!!!

I think it has to do with a number of factors.

1. Big 10 fell off as a whole (not the fault of OSU) and the weakness of schedule makes fans of other contending teams bitter.

2. Last year. More people than not believe the Buckeyes are pretenders after watching them get thoroughly beat by Florida and believe the Buckeyes will again run the table, make it to the national title game, and possibly get spanked once more fueling peoples' opinion that they should never have made it in the first place.

3. Really, I think people are channeling their frustrations about the BCS system as a whole on any team that stays at or near the top of the rankings. Whoever is #1 through #5 always gets picked at because it's not so much hatred directed at the team so much as frustration about the BCS ranking system.

Instead, we should all just go lynch those pollsters. Most of the time, the voters don't catch most of the games, cast votes based on bias, and people are fed up. Give us BCS +1 if not the playoffs! Then, we won't have all this hate whoever is at the top garbage.

I think that most of the hate we're seeing is coming from SEC fans. This was supposed to be the year that SEC dominated college football. And although they have some very good teams in the conference, those teams are experiencing some losses that they didn't expect to occur. So they're bitter that OSU hasn't lost yet. From what I've read on here, they spend more time wishing and praying that OSU loses rather than wishing and praying that their team wins. It's a sad state of affairs.

OSU fans for the most part are well aware that this is a rebuilding year for the team. We don't hold the "We're number 1!" parades that people are accusing us of. We have no illusions about what being BCS ranked as #1 in the 8th week means. People need to just relax and let the season play out without all of the hate spewing. If they can let go of the hate, maybe, just maybe...they'll start enjoying the GAMES that these KIDS are playing rather than acting like kids themselves.

It really is a result of the thorough whipping by FL last Jan. in the BCS Title Game. The sports media hyped the team up beyond belief all season long as they attempted to go wire to wire number one and then fell flat on their faces. So I'd say the vocal hatred we're seeing toward Ohio State now is a knee jerk reaction to being fed what ultimately was a lot of BS all last season with OSU and UM being the supposed top dogs of college football. Now that it is clear the Big Ten is in an era of weakness you still have OSU ranked number one in the country so the hatred continues to fester. Until the Buckeyes either fall out of the top 5 or prove their detractors wrong come bowl season against a legit opponent, the bashing will continue and rightfully so.

The haters hate on Ohio State because most, know nothing about them. All they can say is Florida. WOW! I'm amazed that people saw 1 Ohio State game. and don't give me the bull **** that ESPN and the media loves Ohio State because they don't they have been sucking USC's dick for so many years and the SEC forever. To comment on the final scores of the Ohio State games this shows the haters are retarded as well. Almost of the points that have been scored on Ohio State have been on the 2nd team.

For the **** face up top Northwestern is a big ten school that just shows you that people just talk **** and know nothing about football. They think they do just because you play NCAA 08 and MADDEN and win on easy you people think you know everything and can coach.

No one factors in the loss of Ted Ginn. That was a big reason for Ohio States loss in the BCS game last season they had to change the whole damn game plan right from the jump. The Big 10 as a whole has gone down allot. Michigan as much as i hate them they aren't as bad as people make them out to be. Penn States on a little bit of a down year but I'm sure they will come back up they always do.

About the schedule they have i think its great the rest of the country may not. The Washington game was put in years ago and the instate opponents are good for the state of Ohio. It gets the smaller schools exposer because they play Ohio state and more kids from Ohio will stay in Ohio and play for these teams. As a big Ohio State fan i would love to see them go with out a loss. This team is more geared for next season in the offense. But the D is ******* nasty. every one says Ohio State was over hyped last year but forget almost all of the players on that D last year were sophomore's and freshman bash them all u want haters but they are just going to get better and better.

OSU is a good team but their schedules are ridiculously easy.

MAC teams
Northwestern or Northeastern
An out of conference nobody

Later in the season thing get A LITTLE bit tougher

Purdue
Michigan
Penn State

But its already to late the Buckeyes have the momentum and a slew of wins.

Also Coach Tressel is a damn good coach, rivaling Pete Carrol of USC. Coach Tressel can coach the hell out of OSU and doesn't need the glitzy recruiting and talent scouts as used by USC

But ESPN has a serious bias against the Buckeyes. Every time OSU gets into the top 5 of the BCS rankings. Those jerkoff analyst start to crucify OSU. Basically if you watch ESPN you hate OSU

Also OSU rarely plays anybody high in the BCS rankings. Except for Michgan back in 06 but usually OSU plays lower ranked BCS teams like the teams in the Big Ten that barely made the rankings.

Also the Big Ten is a weak conference. Its just Michigan and OSU

People always attack the top...in any situation. Comes with the territory.

I'm a So Cal fan living near Ohio State. I will say, as unbiased as possible, the OSU fans lately have been the most arrogant fans I've met.

I root for my team regardless of their record. My first year at SC was the 4-6-1 record under Ted Tollner.....I rooted at every game and wore my t-shirts proudly. Still do. Regardless of your team, always support them. College football is the best!!! Rivalries are better!!

I don't hate Ohio State, and us Columbus people are not bandwaggon jumpers....obviously the people who are saying that are full of it, they obviously have never been to Columbus during the football season....being a recent graduate of Ohio State, and being raised in the atmosphere (parents raised in Columbus) I think I have a better understanding of our fans and more importantly our tradition, it isn't like we all woke up one day and said, oh wait, we are pretty good, hell we still talk about archie and woody, like they are still playing and coaching,

so reading people saying we are coming out are probably SEC fans, or really do not know college football

now to answer your question, we have been a dominating team forever, you either love us or you hate us, very similar to USC, there is no middle of the road with these teams, and there are others out there, the haters tend to have their opinions, but that is all they are, so you can't take them seriously

GO BUCKS!!
