This question is sort of tricky. I will start by excluding the Native Americans from the list because their migration and subsequent dispersal and settlement took place thousands of years before the anyone from the Eurasian continent had the technology available to cross the oceans after the land bridge in the Bering Strait had disappeared. That being said...
While Columbus is the acknowledged first arrival from the Eurasian continent there is evidence, mostly archaeological, that the Vikings, we'll stick with this generic term for the time being, may have had settlements in New Foundland off the coast of present day Canada. This is partially corroborated by some corresponding archaeological evidence in Greenland from the Viking colony there.
However, there may be some minor evidence of the Chinese arriving on the West Coast even earlier, thanks to the Pacific current which runs counter clockwise and so would have enabled the Chinese to traverse the distance, barring favorable weather, to the Americas and back with relatively ease.
Since much of the evidence behind the Viking theory, which is much more substantive, and the Chinese theory, which is weak on good evidence, it is still standard practice to acknowledge Columbus as the first arrival. Even though the region was name for another Italian, Amerigo Vespucci.
If you are at all interested I would recommend doing a term paper for class on the subject and researching it to death, that means books by the by, because chances are you'll really answer your question and probably educate your teacher about the subject that they perport to inform you about.

Probably the group of people that didn't move from the Southern Asian region to Europe with the Indo-Europeans, but instead moved north and east into Russia, then across the frozen waters into Alaska and then South into Canada and the Americas, evolving into the Inuits and the first Native Americans.
And responding to an earlier answer, Columbus was helped more by the Spanish QUEEN Isabella, and his being the first to "discover" America is HIGHLY disputed.

The first humans were the ones who became Native Americans. during the last ice age, an Ice bridge formed between what is today Alaska and Russia. They crossed about 10,000 years ago. The first Europeans were Norwegians (Vikings if you prefer). They landed in about 1000 There were several small expeditions after that. Columbus landed in 1492. He is most remembered because that was the beginning of colonization.
If it helps, America is named after Amerigo Vespucci. a cartographer thought that Amerigo was the leader of Columbus's expedition, and called it America.

Collumbus yes but the indians or what ever were there all the time. We have the same problem in South Africa. Settlers in 1600's but the native nations were here. Other than America we thought we could trade with them. Bought land that time already and now they want it all back after it have been developed

Gotta be more specific, if you want to go to the beguining, then Asian tribes migrating over the land bridge that connected asia and alaska were the first settlers. The vikings were the first europeans to set foot in america, they even had a small village, but did not last long, then came Colombus.
