it seems like people are saying that you should go if you had sex before 18
do you get more infection byt a penis than an object?

A 'pap' test is a sample taken from the cervix to test for cells that suggest early stages of pre cancerous conditions of the cervix - or 'dysplasias'. The reason it is more pertinent to sexually active women is that HPV - Human Papiloma Virus -is known to induce cervical cancers and is spread via intercourse - yes - males can carry the virus (thus the route of transmission). The pap test detects cells that have been morphed by the virus and is an early detection test. It was 'created' by a Dr. Papanikaloau (sp). If you have NEVER had sex, however, it is still important to have annual testing for certain forms of cancer and other diseases that don't always have outright symptoms where the vagina, cervix and uterus are concerned. Better safe than sorry - literally...

Essentially yes. Beside STD.. bacteria from the penis and vagina coming into contact.. its all good but sometimes the build up of it can cause problems

frankly, that has nothing to do with it. a female's body begins to undergo changes when she becomes sexually active, that is why she needs a pap test. It gives the doctor a baseline result to compare any future changes against.

You can't get an STD from yourself but you can from another person
