Do you think people who break the law or are repeat offenders should be allowed to live off of our tax dollars?

Many get probation or time served and return home, to free or nearly free housing. The reason I ask this question is because of a group of apartments near our neighborhood. Multiple crimes have occurred in our neighborhood that are directly related to the inhabitants of these apartments. A car was burglarized in front of our home by a young male of about 14, in daylight with a neighbor yelling at the kid. He broke the window out and snatched a few things. He got probation and is now living back in the apartments. This is one example of at least 5 incidents in the last 6 months or so. If the offender is a juvenile, should the family pay for his/her mistakes?

No, I think anyone who receives any type of public assistance that commits a crime should be cut off. I have no sympathy for people who live off my tax dollars and then get caught stealing or selling drugs. No housing, no food stamps, no free child care.

most government housing have rules on this, for example in California Los Angeles. The is ZERO tolerance of criminal actives . So even a distrubing the peace charge earns you the boot. Because that is a criminal offense and its under the penal code.

I'm curious, do you prefer that these people that probably are not able to rent housing because of their criminal background live in subsidized housing or live in their car behind your house?

i would like to believe so because they deserve some form of punishment to deter them from committing again. if they want benefits, they must abide.
