I have an incident with a couple officers. You know how it goes, "I look like someone who just robbed someoe"... I never appeared threatening but they slammed my face against the car, put me in handcuffs, and slammed my ankle in the door 3 times. My ankle hurts, but it will be fine in a week or so im sure. But the attorney I talked to said it had to be a serious injury with broken bones or surgery for them to be able to do something. I think thats bull. Are they going to get away with this? I dont have health insurance and I would hate to get a crazy hospital bill thats telling me ill be fine in a couple weeks and attorneys telling me thats not enough. Anything I can do? The officers wouldnt give me their names but I got the license plate. This was today by the way.

If a lawyer tells you it's a lost cause why would you question that? You have no evidence to support your allegations.

Seems to me if you had a legitmate complaint, lawyers would be waiting in line to take your case.

I'm guessing you left out the part about resisting the officers.

If someone slammed my ankle in the door, I'd move it before they had a chance to do it again, let alone three times. Unless i was kicking at the door, preventing them from closing it.

Probably better off going OUTSIDE the jurisdiction to get a lawyer.

a "good" attorney will not pursue a case that he does not believe he can win. Sorry, good luck
