In the U.K. any exhaust silencer that does not have an E.U. conformity stamp on it, is illegal for road use.
Whether a copper would actually bother to write you a ticket for it, is another matter though.

I just put one on my car a month ago. I have a 6 cylinder. I was stopped by police for having One headlight (two nights ago) and they said nothing about sound of car.
They were very Strict, that is why the stopped me for one headlight at 2am on a Saturday night/
I drive about 600 miles or more a week in Illinois,Wisconsin, Indiana,Michigan, and no Cops have said anything. I have no tickets for anything.
My exhaust broke off and the -Cherry Bomb -fit right over the pipe (using fittings) . I bought at Auto Zone for $20.00, and put it on in the parking lot. You get a "Cherry Bomb" decal with it. I got it because it was cheap and easy to put on.
My 6 cylinder probably is not as loud as an 8 cylinder.
I have seen a Honda and a Dodge with loud exhaust pull up next to me at a stop llight and I joke with them by revving my engine( I am 50 yrs old). You could go to Auto Zone and ask to see one...........But, for a Motorcycle, if it would work, you would have to modify the carbs and tune it to the Cherry Bomb ! You might ask at a motorcycle Web site ?

The most acknowledged of Lisbon's key attractions could be the St. George's Castle. This castle commands a wonderful place near Alfama on the top of a hill overlooking the Portuguese capital. This really is one of Lisbon's most widely used tourist destinations. Its remarkable battlements, participating memorial, and exciting archaeological site mix to really make the castle a rewarding experience for all the family, and kids particularly will cherish clambering over the stable surfaces and towers that encircle the grounds.

the cat is short for catylic converter, most stock cats are to restrictive, look for a hight flow for your aplication also , reconsider the cherry bomb with a series 40 Flowmaster muffler, youtube "flowmaster Vs cherrybombs" on other rides will help you decide, in my opinion cherrys are old tech, I am from chicago also, excessive exhaust noise will get cops attention but not sure about it being a violation though.

No. They make good paperweights.
Are they legal for on-road use? No, they are not.
