I believe all women should be given access to abortion, and ESPECIALLY in cases of rape and incest. it would be unusually cruel to force a girl or woman to carry out a pregnancy she never desired.

Yes, it should always be her choice. Nobody should force a woman to keep a baby that may remind her every day of being brutally violated - it's not fair on either mother or child. And what if the girl was, say, 12 years old? She's still a child herself, how could anybody ask a child to carry a baby for 9 months? Let children be children, wouldn't she have suffered enough and had enough of her childhood taken from her through the rape in the first place? People who say that abortion is murder and unacceptable in all circumstances are narrow-minded. They see it in black and white even though most areas are grey when it comes to abortion. It's never an easy choice to make and I think it's wrong to judge someone who has had or is planning to have an abortion. As if it wasn't difficult enough already.

I think she should have the option to abort. I am worried about the possible psychological impact upon rape victims if they are forced to carry to term and give birth to the product of a rape. I don't think developing in such negative surroundings or within a woman who doesn't even want the child will help the developmental process any.

Many factors. For a (permit's with the basics), the embryo/foetus is becoming interior of her physique. persons don't have the right to tell their important different what to do with their physique or to bypass via way of a undeniable medical technique (or forestall them dealing with reported medical attitude). being pregnant is a likely existence-threatening situation, which will reason eternal and semi-everlasting harm to the physique. the girl additionally has to verify she has the sources and freedom (funds, time, artwork commitments and so on.) to work out via skill of a being pregnant and bring up a teenager. it somewhat is now no longer despite to circulate into gently. We additionally run into the complicated considerable concern of what to do while a woman has had a pair of confederate. it somewhat is a possibility to take a blood pattern from a foetus interior the womb, besides the shown fact that companies interior the united kingdom on the least refuse to accomplish DNA fingerprinting from foetuses on a similar time as interior the womb. to no longer factor out that the father could merely commerce his mind no remember if or no longer he needs it or now no longer halfway via way of, while this is too previous due for the girl to acquire an abortion. subsequently, what to do in the event that they choose distinctive concerns? basically one guy or woman could make the main suitable decision. it somewhat is glaring that which will may be the character who it impacts a number of the main i.E. the girl. somewhat, this is appropriate for her to weigh up what to do and make the main suitable determination, with enter from any dedicated or fascinated confederate of direction.

I believe that she has the right to an abortion if she so chooses. She most definitely did not ask to get pregnant, in fact she was violated. But if she chooses to keep it then she has the option of giving it up for adoption or keeping and caring for it on her own. That could only be done if she has a very strong support system.

For those who say abortion is wrong even in the case of rape:
We shall comandeer (sp?) this woman's body for 40 weeks and force her to eat healthy, no drinking or doing drugs, get proper sleep and medical attention etc etc. to ensure that the baby is healthy. But what do we do about the fact that this baby grows as a parasite inside this woman's body who does not want it, has no concern for it and if anything probably is rapidly beginning to hate both the the baby and herself. I'm sure that the violation of being raped for 10 minutes wasn't enough, so that now society has to violate her for 403,200 minutes.
I'm sure the baby will grow up to be well adjusted even though in its development all it felt was anger, frustration, and hatred. Not to mention the woman. She'll get over it. Just like she'll get over being raped.

I'm an 'all or nothing' person....so if your argument that abortion is murder, then aborted fetuses as a result of rape are still murdered fetuses. The act doesn't change. Pro lifers who make these exceptions lose all credibility for me, and they are clearly not commited to their cause if they feel that rape is a good reason to abort, and eliminate the label of murder.
I also happen to be pro-choice, choosing to support a grown woman's choice to do that which she wishes with her body, as opposed to a first term fetus who could not survive outside her body, with or without scientific intervention.

"Murder" is a completely inappropriate term. Murder is legally defined as the intentional and malicious killing of another person, but
1. The intent of an abortion is NOT to kill the embryo, but to end the pregnancy.
2. I doubt any women are malicious in doing so.
3. "Personhood", is entirely subjective. Our moral standards are generally-agreed upon community principles, and while it is agreed that those who are born ARE persons, there is nothing close to a consensus regarding the personhood of embryos.
This is why women were never charged with murder, even in the horrific pre-Roe days.
I think it is okay to have an abortion whenever she chooses. It is her body and her life. No woman should have her decisions dictated by the government, and THEN have to choose between raising an unwanted child in poverty and despair and giving her baby up to the most abusive fostercare system in the world, likely to live a life of phyisical and sexual molestation.
I think it would be best to have an abortion. No child should be forced into the world unwanted.

Personally, I think it is the victim's choice but if she decides to have the baby and put it up for adoption, she needs to remember that this person will probably come looking for her 18 years later. She needs to consider if she can handle that of even if she wants to meet this person. If she doesn't want to, she should know that many adoptees don't stop at that. They'll try to meet her other relatives and some can become quite persistent about it.

Sometimes in life the hardest choice is the best choice. The child is, after all, her child too. If it was my daughter, or myself, I would, and would hope she would, carry the child to term and place for adoption. I think it would be difficult, but it is not the child's fault that their father committed the hateful act of rape. I think it would be difficult to care for a child that was the product of your rape, because it would be a constant reminder of the act, but adoption would be the most loving choice for the child. There is help available to low-income women, such as medicaid, food stamps, welfare, and babysitting reimbursements for someone to watch the child so that the mother could finish school. Remember too that rape accounts for less than 1% of the million plus abortions that occur each year in the U.S. Medical deformities, incest, rape, and the abortions done to save the mothers life, all add up to 5%. 95% are done as a form of birth control. Roe v. Wade was made law due to a woman saying see was raped and not wanting to carry the child. She later admitted this was a lie and both cases were brought by women who now regret their decision and are actively fighting on the side of life for the unborn.
