The only place I know of in the US, where you can smoke in public without a cop bothering you, is in northwestern California.
Even then, the sheriff deputy might turn the other way, but the CHP generally won't.

yeah you are in public. same as the cop pulling you over. plus he can see u smoking!!! he has a reason to bust your window open if he wants. same is if he saw you through your living room window.

In your driveway is the key, here. and your driveway is on private property. to require you to respond they have to either have a search warrant or probable cause. they don't have the ability to discern pot smoke from cigarette smoke unless they can smell it and they can't smell it unless you roll down your window.

if a cop has reasonable doubt meaning if he smells pot r gets a report of pot smoke he can come talk to u , not opening your door is basicly saying its me and i dont want you to smell it

Depends on where you are. If you are somewhere where pot is legal then you are not doing anything illegal. If you are somewhere where pot is illegal then the police may make you give them a bong hit. Either way there is no way for you to not get in trouble because pot damages your brain.
