I am due on the 29th of November with my first baby and live in Arkansas but my aunts want to throw a babyshower in Tennesse on the 15th of November and I'm not sure if its a good idea to leave that close to my due date and if for some reason i have the baby early and don't have it in the hospital here I am still going to get charged for it here. So i don't know if i should go or they also said they could give me the money they were going to use for the baby shower.

Would you have to fly... Flying in your third trimester is not recommended... to be honest, it may be best for you to just take the money, that way you can put it towards things you know you need and you won't get things people think you need.

I don't think it is recommended to fly the last two months, so I would think it would be a no no in the last two weeks. You should check with your Dr., but I am pretty sure they will say no way. Sorry. My Mom was in Germany when she had me, my parents were stationed there by the Air Force. My Grandmother still threw her a shower at home with all of the family and friends. They could do a shower for you and ship the gifts to you. Just an idea.

good luck and congrats!

That close to my due date, I wouldn't travel more than an hour from the hospital or my house. I also didn't find sitting for any great length of time comfortable anyway. My second child came over 5 weeks early, so she came to her own shower. That might be an option also...either move the date up, or have it after. Good luck and congratulations.

I would just go for the money they were going to use for the shower, and buy all the neccessary things for the baby, if any moneys left over then put it under a savings acct for the baby. I would not travel that late and close to your due date.. you are taking a risk as far as giving birth in tennesse... It is nice of them though.. but it would of been better for both you and the baby at a earlier date... like sept , oct... so just relax and do go visit and snd pics of what you are able to buy with their gift. =) congrats

You should ask your doctor, but he probably would advise against it. If they want to throw you a shower, then they need to travel to where you are.
You could also have the shower a couple of weeks after the baby is born.

I would say don't do it the last 2 weeks because you can really go anytime. 1st was a week planned 2nd almost 2 weeks not planned. if she really wants to do it have it after the baby comes it really would be better for you and the baby just encase. Good Luck

I personally wouldn't do it... but I'm paranoid though :o) Maybe they can have the baby shower after the baby is born? Money is always nice too... but if they really, really want to throw you one... I'd do it afterwards.

two weeks before your due date is way too close to be travelling...the travel alone could send you into labor...I would suggest letting them throw you a shower after the baby is born and then you and the little one can travel together to TN...

Your doctor will probably advise you against it. It's too close. You are technically full term after 37 weeks, and the baby can come anytime.
