MTD makes about 70% of all lawn and garden equipment on the market and always has. If you go to their web site you can see all of the brands that they own. Also look at the frone end and steering assemblies and compare them to others like Craftsman, they are identical because MTD makes their stuff too.

Just like all tools and equipment. Take care of it and it will last a long time. Just buy one that fits your needs. It is usually better to get one bigger than you need. It will do the job, work less and last longer. Maintenance if the real answer.

It's not a Cadillac....but it's not a Ugo either. They make tractors for a majority of the big name companies.
