Does anybody know where i could find a diary of an immigrant coming to the US. I mean like a diary of a random immigrant who came to the US like in the 1800s, nobody famous. You see I have this project in my history class to write 10 diary entries, 10 sentences a piece, and its due tomorrow and I haven't started. I figured that somebody if helped me find a diary, then i could change some of info in it around such as the dates, names, places and i could do it. Help Me Please!? i really need it.

This is a lesson plan of a similar assignment. At the bottom, it gives examples. The last one is the best one.

Don't make such a big deal of this.

Just do a little research into the 1800's and see what was going on. There was a war with Mexico, a gold rush, a civil war, the great railroad expansion, and a few other big things.

For example, you could write one about the civil war. One sentence says how they expect there to be a battle tomorrow. Another mentions having been drafted into the service against the writer's will. Another mentioning how he misses his family back in Madrid, or Ireland, or whatever.

Just pick out events that happened, and one of the ten sentences always mentions missing "back home in ________".

This is one of those assignments that plagiarizing is harder than just making it up.

Yes, a university library would have this information, probably in micofilm or in a major scholarly journal. This is NOT something you should attempt to do as it is highly illegal, difficult to do, and you don't have the time. Just do your best to make something up and next time try not to procrastinate. Good luck
