I've noticed that little cynical smart-asses are the ones taking over what's left of rock... now... could it be that this 'whatever' attitude this generation has taken is one of the things that has made it so difficult for a good set of bands to really make it?

I say it because audiences are what make or break a band and I've noticed that audiences today will crucify band for little unimportant things like wearing nice clothes that weren't purchased in a thrift store or the band not acting bored during interviews...

yea its funny how that happens and all the bad bands end up making the spotlight, but what can you do? its called society, you just have to act the way you feel is best and hope some other people see the light

Okay im not quiet sure what you are saying or asking but i just wanted to say this i guess it sort of relates to what your saying if i somewhat understand whatever your saying:

well i find it annoying and think its a horrible thing that the audience defines music by the bands apperance. what ever happened to actually listening to music? i mean i get irritated when people say they like a band or something and have no idea on what the song means or what the bands message is. they just like them because they are popular.

idk or maybe im just to obssesive over music that i listen to everything the artist made and try to put into even just one song. for example ill listen to one song as a whole, instruments and vocals, and then ill listen to the words/lyrics the meaning of the song what was the artist feeling what are they saying. then ill listen to the tempo, the guitar riffs, the guitar solos, the drums, the beat, the bass, then i ll listen to the vocals the part of the songs where the singer puts more emotion into a word, goes from high to low, mellow, hard. and then listen to it as a whole again and appreciate the song, i see all the hard work the band has put in the song. And i do this with all the songs i hear, with all the bands i like. thats how i decide whether or not i like or don't like a band. not because of the appearance ... thats just freakin ridiculous.

wow i totally agree it seems like we ( the audience) make it easy for anyone to get a deal . seriously look at rap .
but the way things are going nothing is private anymore so we see what they do behind closed doors and jugde them because of the way things are suppoesed to be .. if you dont have nice things your not worth anything . Nirvana would not have made it now days .... did i say that right ??

This generation? HHHHAAAA. Music today is not like ANY generation. Rock is screaming. wtf is that? screaming? i dont understand why people do that. singers are good, though such as Vince Neil, Axl Rose and Seastian Bach. They SING.

And the other half of the non-screaming generation is
GET DOWN WITCH YO BAD SELF MUTHER ***** **** SLAP THE ***** MUTHER ***** ****.
so thats just WAYYYY out there. thats not even youth, thats just monkeys who got a hold of some stupid *** music producer and said "make me famous! or i be shoot yo ***!"

The world seems to be losing depth and heart. Probably because of all the automation.
