I used to date a firefighter. He looked good in the uniform; but the notion of him rescuing people, bravery, courage, putting himself in harms way for the sake of others was very attractive.

The uniform and the form in which they can contain the hose!

They are willing to risk their lives to save others, that is courageous.
I like how easy-going most seem to be, based on my experience with some firefighters, and are also much more relatable than, let's say cops, for example.
