I am getting C12 H .... which is incorrect. The answer is C8 H8... can someone please show me why?

C=12
H=1
Total = 13
104/13 =8
so it would be C8H8 or 12*8=96 and 1*8=8
96+8=104

Taking an empirical mass for CH, which is 12 + 1 = 13g
So its molar mass of CH is 13g/mol
Dividing 104 g/mol by 13 g/mol = 8
This means that there are 8 carbons and 8 hydrogens in the molecular formula; C8H8
